Dr. Sonny H. Burias
Dr. Burias is a graduate of the College of Dentistry of the University of the East, Class of 1992, with broad experience in the field of Esthetic Dentistry.
He had formal and hands-on training in composite and esthetic restorative materials at the Research and Development Center, Kerr Sybron in Orange County, California in 2001. He attended the Continuing Education Program of the University of California,
Los Angeles (UCLA) on Restorative and Prosthodontics Dentistry in 2006.
Since 1998, Dr. Burias has been a frequent lecturer on essential ideas in Esthetic Dentistry, Precise Tooth Preparation, Case Presentation and Analysis at the Philippine Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (PAED Esthetic 101 course), speaking at different dental chapters, the Philippine Annual Dental (PDA) Convention as well as on the international circuit.
Dr. Burias has been Clinical Advisor and Key Opinion Leader (KOL) for Minimally Invasive Cosmetic Dentistry (MiCD) Philippines and Shofu Inc., Singapore Branch since 2010. His other professional qualifications include passing the Western Regional Examination Board (WREB) in the US for the California Dental Licensure in 2008. He also pioneered and completed the Post-Graduate Esthetic Curriculum, offered by the University of California Los Angeles’s (UCLA) College of Dentistry in October 2011. Through his efforts, the largest group of Philippine dental professionals – 38 – enrolled in the UCLA continuing program in 2009, and which has become a popular course for dental professionals who want to level up their esthetic practice.
A founding and active member of PAED since 1997 and Past President from 2010 to 2012, he currently is the Vice President International of Asian Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (AAAD) for the term 2018 to 2020.
Dr. Burias is in private practice at the Dental Studio by Dr. Sonny Burias and Associates at the Ramon Magsaysay Center on Roxas Blvd. and the Dental Studio by Burias, Ong, Miclat and Associates at the RCBC Savings Bank Corp. building in BGC, Taguig City.
